"Day 1
Captain Ling ordered me to keep these records. He told me that he's going to read them every night to make sure I'm not losing my marbles. It sounds like a load of rubbish to me, but I'm not going to argue with a paladin of Iomedae who's three times taller than me and twice as wide. Not a chance.

Day 3
Captain Ling told me that he won't tolerate my 'casual attitude' to the expedition anymore (!!!). These paladins are just bullies. They'll happily beat the living crap out of you — while explaining that it's all for the greater good, blah, blah, blah. But fine, I'll behave. I am Binaban Rizzel, a gnome, an explorer, and a pathfinder, assigned by the Grand Council of Absalom to help the paladins of Iomedae on their expedition into the Enigma. I wish I had never written that article about Areshkagal's secrets. If I had known all the trouble it would cause me, I would have never published it in the first place. Damn it, Ling, why am I writing all this? You know perfectly well who I am, and what I am doing here.
I don't think that a few prompt killings of a bunch of lesser demons by a squad of well-armed blokes can qualify as incidents, so no incidents today either.
Day 4
We've been walking in circles around this stone labyrinth for four days now. My legs are killing me, truth be told. Oddly enough, the food is good. I was expecting field rations — some nondescript gruel, but it turns out that Iomedae's paladins aren't opposed to a good dinner. The walls of the labyrinth are covered in strange writing. Some of the inscriptions are truly ancient. They date back to Earthfall times. Others have been made more recently. And then there are some that I don't recognize at all... and I'm a linguist, mind you! Whenever I fail to translate an inscription, Captain Ling frowns and turns away. But what am I supposed to do?
We have found significant evidence that all kinds of creatures from different planes, and even different worlds, used to visit the Enigma. I have already spotted the unholy symbols of the demon lords Baphomet and Aldinach. While the presence of the latter is unsurprising — the sisters have been at each other's throats since birth — the appearance of Baphomet and his cultists is quite intriguing... What does Areshkagal, the Keeper of Secrets, have in common with the Lord of the Minotaurs? Except for their irrepressible fixation on these damned dark labyrinths, of course.
Speaking of which, Ling. Don't you think that four days is a long enough time for a reconnaissance mission? I'm starting to get homesick.
Day 5
You won't believe what happened today! While trudging through this damned labyrinth, we bumped into a group of Areshkagal's cultists — a bunch of ragamuffins wearing white masks. Ling hailed them, but when they produced some rusty knives and tried to fight, they were quickly killed for their foolishness. Serves those idiots right. That'll teach them to choose their cultish beliefs more carefully. But that's beside the point. What was strange about these cultists is that they weren't just dying — when they were cut down, they crumbled into dust, and vanished into nothing! Their bodies disappeared completely! It was unbelievable! All that remained of the cultists were their white masks. Of course, our brave paladins trampled them with their boots, but I managed to salvage one intact. Ha! So what are you gonna do to me now, Ling? Will you try to take it away from me? You wish! According to our contract, you agreed to let me collect non-life-threatening, non-magical archaeological artifacts. So, I hereby officially declare that this totally useless white mask is an archaeological artifact! I intend to wear it, walk around wearing it all day, and even go to sleep with it on! And you can do absolutely nothing about it!"
The last entry is written in an uneven, shaky hand that bears little resemblance to the previous entries.
"Day 6
All right, Binaban, focus. Pull yourself together, you spineless moron! So, I woke up a moment ago. I stretched. And then I started to wonder why I hadn't heard the paladins. They never allow me to get a good night's sleep! So I look around, and they're all lying on the ground — dead. Their fingers were curled up into fists, their hair was white... some of them had their hands clutched to their chests, and others had pissed their pants. It was as if they had all seen something horrible... something terrifying. But I know what they saw. Areshkagal's ugly mug, that's what! The legend says that anyone who takes a peek under her mask will either go crazy, or die where they stand. So, I was just over here, sleeping like a baby in my little mask, and they... Well, Areshkagal came to pay them a visit, and...
So why the hell am I still writing in this stupid notebook? Ling is dead! Kicked the bucket, and all his fellow paladins with him! That's it, kaput! I have to get out of here! I need to pick a direction — it doesn't even matter which one — and try to find the exit! And I need to keep the mask on. I have no idea what it really is, but without it, I'd be lying next to Ling now, cold and dead."

링 대장이 더 이상 원정에 대한 나의 "얼빠진 태도" 를 용납하지 않을 것이라고 말했다 (!!!). 이 팔라딘들은 더러운 깡패놈들이다. 이놈들은 즐거운 마음으로 당신을 후두러 패고, 이것은 공공 선이 어쩌니 저쩌니할 것이다... 하지만, 좋아 나도 그 장단에 맞춰주지. 내 이름은 비나반 리젤. 노움이고, 탐험가이자 패스파인더다. 압살롬의 대평의회는 불가사의를 향한 아이오메데의 팔라딘들의 원정을 도우라며 나를 그들에게 보냈다. 아레시카갈의 비밀에 대한 기사를 쓰는 게 아녔는데... 그게 나에게 문제를 일으킬 줄 알았다면, 절대 출판하지 않았을 것이다. 젠장 링 대장, 내가 대체 왜 이것들을 다 써야 되는 겁니까 ? 내가 누군진 아주 잘 아실 거고, 여기서 뭐하는지도 잘 아실 텐데요.
중무장한 깡패무리가 하급 데몬 몇 마리를 빠르게 쓰러뜨린 건 사고라고 생각하지 않는다. 음 그래서... 오늘도 아무 사고도 일으키지 않았다.
넷째 날
우리가 이 바위 미궁을 빙빙 돈지 벌써 4일 째다. 솔직히 말해서, 내 다리가 박살날 것 같이 아프다. 근데 이상하게도 음식은 맛이 기가막힌다. 나는 무슨 죽같은 걸 생각하고 있었는데, 아이오메데의 팔라딘들은 꽤 괜찮은 저녁 식사를 하고 있다. 미궁의 벽은 이상한 글들로 가득하다. 글들 중 몇개는 아주 오래 되어, 어스폴 시기로 거슬러 올라간다. 다른 것들은 비교적 최근에 쓰인 것들로, 분간할 수 있는 것도 있다... 아 나는 언어학자잖아 ! 내가 글귀 하나를 번역하지 못할 때마다, 링 대장은 인상을 구기고 뒤돌아 선다. 아니 나보고 어쩌라는 겁니까?
우리는 불가사의에서 다양한 차원 출신의 수 많은 존재들이 방문했다는 사실을 보여주는 흔적을 발견했다. 나는 이미 데몬 군주 바포메트와 알디나치의 상징이 어디에 있는 지 파악해 두었다. 알디나치의 상징이 이곳에 존재하는 것은 놀라운 일은 아니다: 두 자매는 태어날 때 부터 서로를 못잡아 먹어 안달이었으니. 하지만 바포메트와 그의 사교도들이 방문한 것은 꽤 놀랍다... 비밀의 수호자, 아라시카갈과 미노타우르로스 군주의 공통점은 뭘까? 물론, 이 빌어먹을 어둠의 미로에 대한 그들의 집착은 제쳐두더라도...
그래서 말인데, 링 대장... 정찰 임무에 4일이면 충분하다고 생각하지 않습니까 ? 저 진짜 집에 돌아가고 싶어지는데요.
다섯째 날
오늘 어떤 일이 일어났는지 믿지 못할 거다 ! 이 망할 미궁을 힘겹게 나아가는 동안, 우리는 하얀 마스크를 뒤집어 쓴 멍청이들, 그니까 아레시카갈의 사교도 무리와 맞닥뜨렸다. 링은 그들에게 말을 걸었지만, 그들은 오래되고 녹슨 칼을 꺼낼 뿐이었다. 결과적으로, 그들의 멍청함은 그들의 명을 재촉했다. 걔네들한테는 잘 된 일이다. 어떤 신앙을 선택해야 하는 지에 대한 교훈이 되었을 테니. 아 요점에서 조금 벗어났다. 어쨌든 가장 놀라웠던 것은 그들은 그냥 죽지 않았다는 점이다. 그들은 먼지가 되었다. 그들의 몸이 우리 눈 앞에서 그냥 사라졌다 ! 믿을 수가 없는 일이다 ! 그 자리에 남아 있던 것은, 하얀색 가면들 뿐이었다. 당연히도, 팔라딘들은 가면 위에 발도장을 쿵쿵 찍었다. 하지만 나는 멀쩡한 걸 하나 빼내올 수 있었다. 하 ! 내게 무슨 짓을 할 건가요, 링? 내게서 가면을 뺏어갈 건가요 ? 꿈깨십쇼 ! 우리 계약에 따르면, 저는 위험하지 않은 비 마법 고고학 유물들을 회수할 권리가 있습니다. 그래서 저는 이 완전히 쓸모 없는 하얀 가면은 고고학 유물임을 공식적으로 선언하는 바 입니다 ! 저는 그걸 쓰고, 돌아다니고 또 같이 자기까지 할 겁니다 ! 하지만 당신은 아무 것도 할 수 없지요 !"
마지막 문단은 떨리는 손으로 쓰여졌습니다. 삐뚤빼뚤한 글씨체는 이전 페이지의 글씨체와는 완전히 다릅니다.

좋아, 비나반, 조금 집중하자. 정신차려, 이 망할 멍청아! 나는 방금 전에 일어났고, 기지개를 폈다... 그리고 그 때부터 나는 왜 팔라딘들의 소리를 들을 수 없는 지 의아해하기 시작했다. 그들과 함께하는 동안, 나는 잠을 제대로 잔 적이 없었는데 ! 나는 주변을 살펴봤고, 그들은 모두 땅바닥에 늘어져... 죽어있었다. 그들은 주먹을 쥐고 있었고, 머리카락은 눈처럼 하얗게 셌다... 두 손을 가슴 위에 올려둔 사람도 있었고, 오줌을 지린 이들도 있었다. 그들 모두 끔찍한 것을 본 것처럼... 나는 팔라딘들이 무엇을 보았는지 안다. 아레시카갈의 얼굴, 의심할 여지도 없다 ! 전설에 의하면, 아레시카갈의 가면 그 너머를 본 사람들은 그 자리에서 죽어버리거나 미쳐버리게 된다고 한다. 나는 여기, 내 가면 아래서 죽은 것처럼 자고 있었고 그들은... 아레시카갈이 왔고... 그리고...
젠장... 왜 나는 여기에 일지를 적고 있는 거야? 링이 죽었다고! 세상을 떠났어, 다른 팔라딘들처럼! 끝이라고! 끝장이야! 안 돼, 여기서 나가야해 ! 방향을 정해야 되는데, 어느 쪽인지는 중요하지 않아, 출구, 출구를 찾아야 해 ! 그리고 가면을 쓰고 있어야 해. 가면의 진짜 정체는 잘 모르겠지만, 그게 없었다면 나는 링 옆에 누워 있었을 거야. 싸늘하게 죽은 채로"

While wielding this ring with a sign of Baphomet, you can summon 2 CR 14 Half-Fiendish Minotaurs 3 times per day and they will fight on your side for 10 minutes. However, if you die while wearing this ring, they are summoned too, but now as enemies.
